What does it mean?
Every time you launch XRPortal, the app checks for updates to ensure you are using the most recent version. The download speed depends on the internet connection and may take some time.
If the estimated download time is longer than ~3–4 minutes, a Skip update for now button will appear. This allows you to enter XRPortal without completing the update — but any content that is not updated will not appear in the XRPortal Library. You can see what that looks like below.
How To Fix
If you have time
- Leave the headset on and allow the update to finish.
- Note: If the headset is taken off, it will enter standby mode and the update will pause.
If you do not have time
- Click "Skip update for now" to enter XRPortal immediately.
- Note: The update will start again each time you launch XRPortal until you allow it to finish. If you continue skipping it, you will need to click Skip update for now every time.
Important
If you previously launched XRPortal before it finished updating, you may see a system message when selecting XRPortal from the launcher screen. In that case, make sure to click "Wait for update to finish" before launching the app.
Tips for very long download times
If the update is taking unusually long:
- Check the Wi-Fi connection quality.
- Move closer to the router.
- Switch to a different Wi-Fi network.
- Try connecting to a mobile hotspot.
A stronger connection will typically result in faster update progress.
