What Is Casting?

Casting lets you share what you're seeing in your VR headset to another screen—like a phone, tablet, computer, or TV. It’s super useful if you want someone else to watch what you’re doing in VR in real time.

Think of it like screen sharing: whatever you see in the headset, they’ll see on their device.

How to start casting from your headset:

• Put on your headset and go to the Home screen.

• Toward the bottom of your view to find the menu bar as seen below:

• Select Screencasting

• At the top of the window, choose Meta Casting.

• Select your preferred casting option. Most of the time, you’ll use Web.

• A web address and a six-digit code will appear just like the image below.
  
  

   

• On another device, have the viewer go to the web address and enter the code.

• When casting starts, you’ll see a small red orb floating in your view. That means others can now see what you see.
   

  
  Stop casting

• To stop sharing your view, return to Screencasting and select Stop Casting. The red orb will disappear when casting has ended.

Troubleshoot casting to a screen with Meta Quest

• If you are unable to cast restart both your headset and device.
• If you still can't cast, restart your Wi-Fi router.
