Learn how to set or adjust your safety boundary to stay aware of your surroundings during VR use.
The Boundary is a built-in safety feature that creates virtual walls around your play area.
These walls appear inside your headset when you get too close to the edge of your safe space, helping prevent collisions and maintain awareness of your surroundings.
Boundary Modes
When setting up your boundary, you can choose between two modes:
Stationary Mode (Default)
This mode is automatically created when you start using your headset.
It’s designed for seated or standing use, with a default boundary of about 3 x 3 feet (1 x 1 meter) centered around you.
Roomscale Mode
For apps or experiences that involve physical movement.
You can draw your own boundaries using your controller to define a safe play area.
We recommend a clear space of at least 6.5 x 6.5 feet (2 x 2 meters), free of obstacles.
Tip:
If you’re playing an app that requires movement or full-body interaction, it’s recommended to switch to Roomscale boundaries for the best experience and safety.
