How Do I Recenter My Screen in VR?

Learn how to reset your view inside the VR headset to make sure everything feels properly aligned and comfortable while using your Meta Quest device.

Recenter Using the Controllers

  1. Point your controller straight ahead toward where you want the center of your view to be.

  2. Press and hold the Meta button on your right conroller until your view resets.

This will immediately realign your screen to your current facing direction.

Recenter from the Settings Menu

  1. Press the Meta button on your right controller to open the Universal Menu.

  2. Select the clock icon on the left side of the menu to open Quick Settings.

  3. Choose Reset View.

  4. Move your head to your preferred position — make sure the screen feels natural and comfortable.

Note:
If your view still feels off after recentering, try turning your headset off and back on again, then repeat the steps above.

 

*On Meta Quest 2 headsets, the Meta button on your controller is replaced by the Oculus button. Both buttons work the same way, but the logo is different.
