COMING SOON
FlowBit is a mixed reality experience that combines relaxation, mindful breathing, and light physical movement. You guide FlowBit, a friendly floating companion, along a glowing path to collect orbs — either at your own pace, against the clock, or in sync with a breathing guide.
The experience runs in mixed reality, so you can see your real surroundings while you play. You can play seated or standing.
Before you start
- Make sure you have enough clear space in front of you to move the controller comfortably.
- Sit or stand facing an open area, away from furniture, walls, and other people.
Game modes
When FlowBit opens, the mode selection screen appears. FlowBit includes three modes, and the longest trail you have reached in each one is displayed on its card as Best mark, measured in meters.
Classic
Collect orbs and build your trail. There is no time limit, so you can move at your own pace and focus on smooth, controlled movement.Time Attack
Beat the clock and get the highest score. You have one minute to build the longest trail you can. Use this mode when you want a more energetic, focused challenge.Breathing Exercise
Breathe and follow the infinite path. A guided breathing exercise that you follow together with FlowBit, with no game element.
Good to know: You can play the same mode more than once. Each session is saved separately, so you can track your progress over time.
How to Play Classic and Time Attack
Settings
Before Classic and Time Attack begin, the Settings screen lets you define the area in which the orbs will appear. Three sliders are available:
- Play horizontal space – how wide the play area is
- Play vertical space – how tall the play area is
- Play maximum distance – how far from you the orbs can appear
As you adjust the sliders, a preview of the play area appears on the right side of the screen in green, with your own position shown in orange. Use it to check that the area is comfortable to reach and clear of obstacles.
When you are finished, select START to begin. To go back without starting, select the back arrow next to it.
Good to know: Set the area to a size you can reach comfortably without stretching or leaning. You can change these settings each time you play.
Rating your stress level
Before and after each round of Classic and Time Attack, you are asked to rate how stressed you feel on a scale of 0 to 10. The first rating appears before the round begins, and the second appears after the results screen.
- 0 – no stress at all
- 10 – a very high level of stress
Answer based on how you feel at that moment. There is no right or wrong answer. These ratings help you and your therapist see how the experience affects you over time.
Tutorial
Classic and Time Attack each begin with a short tutorial that explains everything you need to know before you play. It is worth watching the first time you try a mode.
If you are already familiar with the mode, select Skip to go straight to the game.
Guiding FlowBit
- Press and hold the grip button on either controller — right or left, whichever is more comfortable — to take hold of FlowBit's head.
- While holding the grip button, move the controller to guide FlowBit through the space around you.
- Look for the glowing orbs and bring FlowBit's head to each one to collect it.
- Every orb you collect makes FlowBit's trail longer. Your result is the length of the trail you reach, measured in meters.
- Avoid hitting the trail with FlowBit's head. If that happens, FlowBit gets a small shock and the round ends.
You can release the grip button at any time to pause and rest, then press and hold it again to continue.
Note: In Time Attack, hitting the trail shortens it instead of ending the round, so you can keep playing until the minute is up.
Results
At the end of a round — whether FlowBit hits its trail or the time runs out — the Run Over screen appears with two results:
- Best mark – the longest trail you have reached in this mode, in meters
- Last longitude – the length of the trail you reached in the round you just played, in meters
From this screen you can select:
- PLAY AGAIN – start another round in the same mode
- BACK TO MAIN MENU – return to the mode selection screen
How to start a Breathing Exercise
The Breathing Exercise does not include a tutorial or a stress rating. You choose an exercise and begin right away.
- Select the exercise you want to do. A description of the selected exercise appears at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose how long you want the exercise to last, or turn on the option to run it without a set time.
- Select Start.
- Follow the spoken and on-screen instructions and breathe along with FlowBit.
During the session
- Move at a pace that feels comfortable. There is no need to stretch or lean beyond your natural range of motion.
- If you feel dizzy, tired, or uncomfortable at any point, stop the session and remove your headset.
- To stop before the exercise is finished, select the arrow at the top of the screen to return to the menu.
Exiting FlowBit
EXIT appears at the bottom of the mode selection screen. Select it to leave FlowBit and return to XR Portal.
